Default 94 shadow 2.5 abnormally high idle

Hi. I have a problem with my car and im hoping someone here could help me out. When i start my car up the rpms jump up to 3500 rpm and stay there and its very annoying. I have checked all the vacuum lines and found nothing. I get error code 25 wich indicates a faulty automatic idle speed motor. Could that be it? Where is the AIS located? Please help

hey im new, lol i was having the same problem with my 90 sundance with the 2.5L i ran a new 2 step fuel system cleaner threw it
quaker state (1 step in gas tank 2nd step is an aerosol that hooks up to the brake booster vacuum line and with the engine running it shoots into the engine at -42 degrees F and fogs the engine and dissolves all the carbon adn doesnt hurt your cat.) anyways after than my idle smoothed out, didnt chug surge smoke and idled great for about 500 kms now its starting to only a lil no where near as bad as before i was curious as to what was causing that as well

i got a lil more info on the situation, if it was the injector O ring was toast it would be sucking in air and the car would run lean not rich, check the fuel regulator and the MAP sensor, also if a vacuum leak is present it weould give the map sensor a false reading it would think theres too much pressure and send more fuel, now running rich like that would cause crappy idling cuz the engines not sucking in alot of air and it would be better during acceleration visa versa, now fuel economy will be extremely poor due to the amount of gas going out your tailpipe lol (explain the smoke) so i say check the MAP sensor vacuum lines and the regulator (comp can also be a prob but start with the cheap things first)

my cars having the same problem i got 170kms to my last full tank of gas, i found a vacuum leak today now its running a little better so im going to go ahead and replace both the map and the regulator. hope this helps u guys, i'll post again if it fixed mine

See my post in the idle problems section in this forum I had EXACTLY the same thing, check the wiring in the AIS (which is located (well, on the 2.2 anyway) in the front part of the throttle body, with a 4 pin electrical connector on it and a diamond shaped flange). On my shadow those wires were badly worn and I had to cut them and solder new wire in the place and then my shadow ran fine. I hope this helps, but all is not lost if it doesn't. Try the above first since it's free, then you can also check the MAP, TPS, O2 and Coolant temp sensors.

Exclamation Help with 93 Dodge shadow 2.5L Non-Turbo

I recently developed an idle issue with my shadow. I seafoamed the car about a week ago and seems now something has gone horrible wrong.. The car will start up no issues but as soon as it starts it surges violently and stalls out almost instantly. Tried restarting the car after it sat about an hour when i returned home so the engine wasent cold or warm at this point. If anybody knows of a cheap fix that would be amazing. I was thinking the fuel filter is getting clogged or something but advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much whomever replies to this message, i appreciate the imput.

Thanks
Ross
