Default The truth about head gaskets?? 89 Aries

I was just wanting to know:

My 89 Aries leaks a very small amount of oil around the head (gasket?), I've been told that they don't have actual gaskets, and that all that is used on them is sealant. Is this true? I've searched around, but I've come up with the both answers.

Most motor use a gasket made of multiple layer of steel or mls for short. You don't use any sealet just the mls gasket which gets compressed when you torque the head done. Also the reason why you replace them everytime have they been torque. Now if you mistake it for the valve cover gasket then yes it uses sealant and on 88 earlier turbo cars was cork and rubber and tbi cars use cork and rubber until 93 ish since the valve cover for those are stamped steel and always leak.
