Default poor acceleration

Hi all, I bought a 2.2 shadow automatic last month and it's really slow accelerating from a stop light. I have changed oil from 10w 30 to 5w 30, changed air and oil filter but the problem still persists.
Speed is not important to me but on every traffic stop i tend to hold people up due to lack of power/poor acceleration.

Also, whats a cruising speed at which this vehicle will run effortlessly on the highway? Anything over 100 kPH and i can feel severe vibration on the pedal and in the cab. I can't go more than 110 kPH because of this excessive vibration. Help me out.

Check the front end for play in the joints. The poor accelerating could be a clogged cat or a jump timing belt on the cam. I would look into the exhaust first. When you shut the car off does is there still exhaust coming out after it stops running?

I never ever thought that the exhaust system could result in poor accelration. The car does not smoke at all and matter of fact, excelled in emmision test. When i push the gas pedal, i hear the engine screaming but the car is not accelerating as i will expect. I'ts as though i have 400 pounds in the back seat.

Then it sounds like your trans maybe low on fluid. Making it slip then not go.
