I wont be taking the Shadow out untill I get my snow tires on. I'll get a pick for you guys maybe in a bit, or the car, we didnt get very much snow, but its still comeing down. Did old man winter hit any of you guys yet?

It just freezing rained here. The roads are pure ice. I came back from the fitness center in town and spun the tires half a block.

If they lock up when you hit them hard you don't have them. Odds are you don't since I never seen one yet that did. Back on topic it about 8 degrees right now by morning they saying with wind chill it should be a warm -20 below zero. yeah [:@]

Yeah, I dont got em then haha, shoot. And what do you guys suggest for the winter? Hubcaps on steelies? or no hubcaps? I'am wondering which is best, and if having no hubs will hurt the steelies, I dont want them to get too rusty.

Just curious.... What makes you think running without hubcaps for 1 winter is gonna make them "too rusty"? My neon has had steelies on it since 99, and my shadow has since 93... they have both been thru winter every year and have only surface rust on them so you have nothing to worry about. As far as winter tires go; I have never had them..Ive put my car in the ditch twice last winter, once was my fault (going to fast and hit a patch of black ice) and the other time I was doing 30mph couldnt stop...it was snow/rain and sucked my car into a 3 foot snow/gravel pile which stopped my car after I moved it lol... But if you have decent all season tires I wouldnt worry about it too much and just drive a little more careful than usual (but thats just me). Im currently driving with nearly bald tires on the front of the neon and for what little tread they have, they grab pretty good.

If you want to spend the extra money on hubcaps go ahead, they only make the wheel look better they don't really protect them. Winter only tires are the best way to go, they provide the best traction in winter.

Thanks again guys, I really appreciate it. Yeah, my all season are ok in the ice/snow, I have three winters to put on, I was gonn buy one more to match, but they discontinued production of them. I might just get a different pattern, and have one side mixed treads. About the hubcaps, I have two sets of them, chrome fake-rim ones, and the stock ones off my parts car. I might just keep them off, the copcar-look is good enough for me.
