Question regarding Dusters and Acclaims
Hey all, just found this forum in a search via google and this is my first time posting. I currently own a 1994 Acclaim and a 1994 Duster. My Duster is a V6 but it's the auto, and I would like to drop a 5-speed in. My other dilemma is that I rear ended someone in the Acclaim (I swear I am not at fault, and the insurance company didn't think so either) and the airbag deployed and crumpled the front bumper a bit. My question is how feasible is it to buy any of the cars from this era (Sundance, Acclaim, Spirit, etc.) replace the front bumper and wheel with the airbag from the Acclaim (or at least the sensor for the airbag) and the transmission into the Duster. Also, are the 5-speeds from the I4 the same as the ones ones on the V6? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

V6 trans are the same for the 3.0. You can put a 5 speed into your duster. It would require mounting different shifter, adding the pedals, and bracket for the clutch cable. The front end of your acclaim would be able to swap between the a spirit or 4 door lebaron. I believe the anything from 91 on should work. As for the tranmission deference between the I4 and V6 they are different castings. They got the same guts but won't bolt up to each other. The driveshaft are the same for either trans or motor. Also need add a bracket to K frame for the rear mount for the man. trans.
There should be a cap over the end and under it should be a nut. If you can't get it off after the nut off then either hit with a blunt object or get a vise grips to get under it and force it off.
