Thanks for the links 89Daytona. What about a 4 speed auto tranny, do you know if this set up would be compatable even though mine has a falling 3 speed.

4 speed would just give better mpg. The 4th speed is overdrive and if like my dads dakota 4 speed it won't shift into it until 105 ish don't ask how I know he was driving it. I don't think they offer a 4 speed for 2.5 2.2. The only one I know of is the one for v6s but that won't bolt up to your motor and wouldn't want anyways.

Info on the transmissions ---> http://www.allpar.com/mopar/transmissions.html

If your 4 speed isn't shifting until 105mph, the gears are wrong or your transmission is built/programmed correctly

Drive it like a normal it will shift at 45 to 50 ish. Keep it to the floor then you get 105 thing. Both dakota are 4.7 with the stock trans both do it.

Well my shadow came with a3 speed. Sometimes it catches the last gear, mostly not. I cruise around town at 4,000 RPM's. Was just intrested in 4speed for the extra gear, Will probably just dropin a 3 speed. This tranny has been rebuilt already 3 times in last 7 years. For some reason or other the same situation accurs. Thanks speedyshelby/89Daytona for the info it helps.
