Default 2002 Bright Silver Metallic Ram 1500 SLT 4x4

Well after horsing around for over two years waiting for my old ride to die ('92 Ranger 2WD) I finally pulled the trigger today. I couldn't make up my mind whether to take on a payment or get something a little older for cash. This truck is the compromise. There was an '08 1500 4WD with 56K miles on the lot that I drove and it about got me. What a motor the 5.7 hemi is. Anyway they wanted $23K for it and it was just a stripper trim wise. Nothing on it. It even had a solid rear window.

OK, so heres my new truck. 86K on the clock. 5.9 motor...the last of them. Spotless interior except for a couple of cigarette burns on the driver seat. (Damn idiot careless nincompoop) I saw Laramie someplace in the paperwork though it is not badged that way. Spotless Autocheck. I'm the third owner. It started life in Michigan but I checked it over for rust and it's very minimal on the frame only. It has spent the rest of it's life in Texas and Nevada.

Alloy wheels
4WD/Auto
Club Cab
Power Seats windows and mirrors etc. etc.
Mileage computer up there on the ceiling digital gizmo
Yada Yada Yada
Black cloth broad weave upholstery yada yada
Clean, clean clean
New Chinese tires.........

I'm happy. I'd sure like to get more power out of it of course but we'll do that as we go along. It must be a rare truck; there's only one other '02 Ram 1500 in the "Member's Rides" section.

There you go. Happy to be here at last

Nice Truck! Technically, your truck is a third gen, but, your drivetrain belongs to the second gen. May wanna go thru the FAQ/DIY forum in the second gen section, to see what kind of things you need to look out for, and things to do to ensure the longevity of your new, pretty, ride.

Thanks! I've been reading through as much as I can bit by bit. There's a lot to soak up. I know for sure I need to do the "I am Frank" recirc door replacement. I've got the part and I'm looking for the ambition.
