Default The Official Third Annual Northern US/Canada Meet & Greet Thread!!!

Its time for everyone to start their planning to attend the 3rd Annual Northern US/Canada Meet & Greet!!!

Last year, we met at the Walter P Chrysler Museum in Auburn Hills, Michigan, and while the turnout wasnt great, we had a good time into the wee hours of the next morning!

This year, we are taking the M&G a step further, as some people wanted a little more substance out of the trip to Detroit, so this year the event will start on June 13, 2009, as DodgeForum.com sponsors the 2009 Chrysler Employee Motorsports Associations Museum Car Show!! While this show is heavily populated by Mopars, it IS open to all sorts of vehicles, and its a great show!!

Here are the full details for the 3rd Annual DodgeForum.com Northern US/Canada Area Meet, Greet, and Cruise!!!

Here is the information:
When: June 13-14, 2009

What: As mentioned, DodgeForum will be sponsoring the big Museum car show, and that show runs from 9am to 3pm on Saturday the 13th. Members can show up (free to spectators...if you want to show your vehicle, i think that it costs 15 dollars if you register by May 26,2009) during the show and enjoy the museum, the huge car show, and hang out in the DF tent. Admission to the museum is $4, but if you register to show your vehicle, its included in the cost of show entry. There is also free parking across from the museum, which is where we have parked in past years. Two years ago, the show was so packed that the free lot was like a show in itself.

Here are some pictures from the past years show:

Once the show ends at 3pm, we can cruise over to Hooters to have dinner. After dinner, those who are from out of town can get to their hotels and relax a bit, and we will reconvene at Dave and Busters at 9pm. We do ask that if you are planning to enjoy alcoholic beverages at the show, Hooters, or D&Bs, that you have a designated driver planned. Last year (and i imagine this year) Midnight and a few others stayed at one of the hotels next to D&Bs.

On Sunday, we will meet at the hotel where the most members are staying, most likely somewhere around Hall and Hayes roads. We intend to cruise to the museum to get some pictures of the vehicles outside on a day where there arent hundreds of show cars everywhere. We will then discuss where those attending would like to eat, or other locations to visit while out cruising around. This will allow a good chance for members to get pictures of the cars together, etc.

Who: This event is open to all DodgeForum.com members, and if you are coming and know other Dodge/Mopar enthusiasts, bring them along!!

Price: The show is free to spectators. The museum admission during the show is $4. If you want to show your car in the big CEMA Show, it is $15 preregistered and $20 the day of the show.

The price of Hooters and D&Bs depends on how much you eat and drink!

RSVP: While we arent requiring any sort of official RSVP, it would be great of those who are coming would post up here and let us know. Even if you cant stay for long, it would be great to seeas many of the members as possible at this event! When you post to let us know, please let us know what vehicle you would probably be in! In the past years, we have had a great many people who say "ill be there!" and then who dont show up. The problem with this is that we have to make sure that we have room at hooters, etc. So, those of you who are interested in coming, please let us know if youre serious about showing up. Ive added a poll to keep track of who is and isnt coming. Please answer the poll honestly..its important.

Walter P. Chrysler Museum
One Chrysler Drive
Auburn Hills, Michigan 48326-2778
1-888-456-1924

Hooters of Troy 2
2950 Rochester Road
Troy, MI 48083
(248) 740-1574

So, post here if you plan on attending, and I will continuously update this post with a list of who is coming. Also, try to mention what you will be driving. If you have a friend or friends that will be coming along, mention that here as well, and their vehicle. (If they have Dodge products, they should be able to post here themselves, if you get my drift! )

ShirtADay.com is now offering shirts, hats, jackets, and hoodies with the DodgeForum logo, and as part of the current group buy, the more shirts we buy, the cheaper they will be! (DF Shirt information, click here!) Id love to see all of the members at the M&G sporting the DF logo, so Im organizing a drawing of sorts for the M&G. Any members who come to the big CEMA car show wearing their DF shirt will have their name put into a hat, and we will draw one before going to hooters. If your SN is picked, ill buy your food at hooters ($20.00 limt). The shirts are less than 20 bucks, so when you buy a shirt and come to the M&G, you can make back your shirt money.

NOTE: For those of you traveling to the show from the south, who plan to take I75 north, parts of it are stll closed. The route that I took this past weekend was to take 75N until it hits 275, then take 275 to I94. This is slightly longer as far as mileage, but I made the trip last weekend, and my timing in getting from my area to ohio was about the same, and 94/275 are much much nicer roads than is 75 (which is why they closed it). You then take 94 east to M59, and you want the exit that is not towards selfridge air national guard (you want the second M59 exit). You will then take that all the way to exit 41 (squirrel road).

I will be there in the 2004 Dodge Stratus R/T and Daniel will be there with me. Possibly in his 05 Stratus SXT sedan.

I will quit my job if they don't let me off, so yeah, I'll be there.

If it rains, he doesn't bring out the Viper or Ram SRT.

Well the Viper. The truck I try to keep out of the rain, does not always happen. Hit some rain last year going to Auburn Hills.
