OK I wasin Vegas thisSunday for Mopars at the Strip. Where any of you guys there???
So I ran my SRT for the first time. I needed a dail in time because I didn't get to parctice on Saturday. So I was able to slip into the elimination rounds. So I guessed on a dail-in. And I asked some of the other SRT guys there. So I put 14.2. I got lined up next to a stock PT. And his dail-in was 18.71. So I had to play catch up. I cut a BAD light (.440). I had a BAD 60 foot (2.490). Basicly I sucked out load!!!!! And I lost BADLY!! I ran a 14.983 at 94.18 mph. I was so worried about missing 3rd I slow shifted and shifted toearly (5500 rpm). And why did I do this you ask???????
I just messed up!!!!!!
So I drove all the way to Vegas at 2am, and got one pass!!!!!

 

itll get better with time.

 

It took more practice for me to learn how to properly launch my SRT-4 than any other car I've ever owned.......and I've owned more than 20.

yeah you will get better my first time i went to the track my best time was a 14.4@ 99. still havent gone back yet to see if i got better but i feel i can launch the car a lot harder than when i used to.

 

these are not easy cars to launch, you'll get better with practice just keep going

 

What is good RPM to launch from???? I don't remember what RPM I launched from[sm=headbang.gif]

 

just keep practicing and you will get better.These cars, just like everyone else said are notthe easiestto launch. I launcharound 2000to 2400 rpm and feather the clutch just depends.

 

you can launch higher, just make sure you take some air out your tires, leave them at 15 psi and do a small burnout, then you can launch higher.My first run was not bad, 13.8, and ran a 13.5 that same night with WGA, exhaust and intake...and of course driver mod!!![sm=badbadbad.gif]

 

i was actually going to suggest launching a little lower, more like 1800rpms. that's how i lanched on street tires and it gave me consistant 2.0-2.1's......

 

why do people do burn outs with street tires?
