Before today I haven't gotten the chance to race one that had anything done to it. One of my buddies has one that is stock and I beat him all the time. Well anyway I raced one today that has exhaust,intake,and he said it was chipped. Well I talked to him about his car and he tells me all this stuff that he beats all these evo's ,srt4's and stuff like that. Well anyway I raced him from a dig and I actually got the jump on him about a half car and steadily kept pulling on him through 2nd and once I hit 3rd i pulled another 2 cars on him and then I shut down around 90. Well afterwards we go back to our mutual friends where I met him and he tells me that his clutch is slipping and that is why I won. And also on the way back to my buddies we raced a couple times from a roll too and same thing everytimeI would steadily pull on him. So I asked him if his clutch was bad than why would you even race and he said when it gets fixed he will race again so I figure I will never see him again.

 

I'd say if you didn't smell a strong odor of clutch smoke, then he was just making excuses. I raced a VW that claimed slipping clutch and you could smell it for 30 minutes after the race.

 

Yeah some people just arent mature enough to accept defeat so they have to find something to blame it on.

yeah tell me about it.. i had a 03 gti 20th ann. edition and it wasn't that fast and what sucks is upgrades are so ****ing expensive... maybe his clutch was slipping cuz i had 40kmiles on my gti and my clutch was slipping already so who knows.. but i sold it and got the srt4 and everything is good!
