Well that's tight that the gauge itself logs. That would probably be worth the added cost and then some. You have the dtec, correct? When you say you can 'use' it for tuning, is it just a readout on the dtec or is it logged in it? I'm curious about the compatibility of the dtec and exactly how it works.Thinking about getting one here shortly, but haven't had experience with tuning fuel other than messing with a Neo recently.I beleive myaem uegowill hook up to that as well. I know it does to the ems, it would be dumb if it didn't...

 

the dtec is a pretty cool little box with what it can do. you can hook up a a/f gauge as well as a boost reference wire to it to get a graph of fuel trim/boost/af's so that you can tune on your own. it's easier if you plug it into a laptop so that you can get a better graph but it will show on the gameboy as well. i have the a/f wire and the boost wire, just need to plug them in (been lazy and it's freaking cold out).

 

Silverblack - are you planning on doing any "tuning"... otherwise, someone let me know why you should have a wideband??? if you just want to see flashy numbers and pretty lights... well... ??

I mean, I have an AFX from NGK (got a good deal on it... cough, cough) that I'd like to throw in my car - just for the heck of it... but it will serve me no other purpose.

 

Yeah im a little lost on this a/f ratio ordeal. Sorry guys. I know you need to monitor your ratio once you start upping the boost but what are safe ratio readings? Normal driving vs. WOT? What should I be getting so Im not too lean or rich?

 

Hmmm... well I definitely need to start looking into this area myself. I'm with ya silver, I dunno much about them, only that u need one at some point or another. I've heard many things about the UEGO but I may have to look into the Innovate.

 

yeah i'm going to up my boost and do some upgrades so i'd like to monitor everything and make sure i'm safe.. i'll probably go with the UEGO one since alot of people have that AEM one..
