HORSEPOWER VS. BOOST

HORSEPOWER VS. BOOST
It seems that lately my car doesnt seem to be having as much power as it used to. Im boosting normal, but my car just doesnt seem to have that thrill factor it used too. Is it possible that your car isnt producing enough hp even though your boost guage is still reading correctly? Im sorta thinking that I might just be getting used to the power so it just doesnt SEEM to be producing as much power as it did when I first bought it. Any way I think Im gonna have it dynoed this weekend just to set my mind at ease. Let me know what yall think.

RE: HORSEPOWER VS. BOOST
well it could be the fact that you are getting use to it! Or you might have a boost leak and a F up gauge. cause if you have a crappy gauge that is not reading right you would not know if you had a boost problem. my old gauge would read 2psi when the car was off lol. but get a boost leak test done than see how it feels. Is your car stock??

So i went and had a baseline done and my results were 237hp/240tq. Now this is stock. I got a question though. My dyno was recorded in 4th gear. Shouldnt it had been done in 3rd gear since thats considered our strongest gear? Wouldnt that have yielded a higher torque rating?

I've dyno'd in both 3rd and 4th.. it doesn't matter: Really, the difference between the two is within the margin of error of the dyno anyways.
When tuning, for cars on the stock turbo I use 3rd gear as it just takes too long to do a pull in 4th. For higher HP cars I tune in 4th as 3rd goes to quick to get an accurate reading for a given RPM on the wideband.
