Yea I know it is a dumb quesiton. What is the "proper" way to shut down the car. I always have it in gear with the clutch in and the brake on and then shut it off, it always seems rough. Are you suppose to be in neutral on shutdown as you are when you start it. I guess I never thought of it before.
YES I KNOW I SHOULD READ THE MANUAL [sm=icon_rtfm.gif][sm=icon_rtfm.gif]

RE: Another dumb ? from me. :D
I keep mine in neutral, but that's just me. The guys at the dodge dealership do it like you do, though. The "roughness" you experience is common to all SRT-4s after a few hundred miles...nothing to be concerned about.
I actually kind of like the feeling, feel like a big ole v8 shutting down. I also love the grumble when it starts, sounds like youv'e awoken a sleeping beast.
mine is only rough when i let the clutch out too soon, before the engine has actually stopped- b/c the clutch engages so early, you'll catch the engine while it's still rotating and it will give you the typical torquey shutoff. try it in neutral or make extra effort to keep the pedal on the floor and see if it still does it.
ill shutdown in neutral, and if im facing uphill ill just place it in first gear, if im facing down hill ill put it in reverse....that good/right or bad/wrong??
