Default Greddy Type S B.O.V.

[&o]My b.o.v. doesn't want to hold at 18psi while under throttle, It releases, pressure drops, then holds, pressure up,then releases again while under throttle. I ajusted spring tension tighter, still the same thing, won't hold.Ihave used all ajustment up,I didn't have to use a wrench to tighten which didn't seem right, I checked the hoses and clamps, seem to be tight. I was under the hood and I reved throttle a little up and down and the valve blew air under vacume. the way it is now I can only hold 4psi. Any help would be appreciated guys and gals.

you probably need to get a new wastegate actuator to hold more boost, the AGP billet works really well.

the wga has nothing to do with it.

your bov is leaking, you need a new one. the type s is notorious for leaking past 15psi.

That is what I thought. Ordered a greddy type R with standard spring today. I think this will be fine for what have, greddy said it's rated for 280hp-450hp. Checked on spring and diaphram for the type S valve with greddy today, they don't havethem in stock any more, they have discontinued the type S.Oh well I guess I needed a new one after all since this one was around 2 years old.Appreciate the help.

the type r might be a little much for the turbo to handle. that's a very stiff spring in there and people have reported issues with being able to open it. good luck with it and let us know how it works out. it's a nice bov if it works for you.

Default greddy type R B.O.V.

I got the one with the standard spring instead of the stiff spring. hopfully it will work. Suppose to work if you have 280hp-450hp. The type s b.o.v. that had did work ok until I set the boost up 22psi after that I could not get it to hold. I ajusted the tension down a little bit at a time, still could not get it to hold boost, I even backed boost down to 12psi. It still would hold and let go under boost. One person asked me if I was running vacumeoff the pink line, the answer is yes.He told me this was the boost holding problem with my b.o.v. I ran the type s like this for 2 years with no problems. He told me that I should be running off black line, in between intake manifold and solenoid, need to put a tee in between black line, off third nipple run line to b.o.v. then cap off pink line. I have the stage 2upgrade, now I went with the 20g with port fueler, I.C, cold air, 3" T.B. Thanks for the help.
