2003 2004 2005 srt-4?
I'd get the 05 if I found a good deal. What few bugs they had in 03 and 04 were fixed in the 05's. The only time the car has thrown a code was prior to Stage 1, when I put the MPX 62mm throttlebody on it. The Stage 1 fixed that.
lol @ the silly owners defending their years........
contrary to what everyone wants to believe, the 05's didn't fix anything from 04. in fact they seemed to screw things up more on the 05's than they did on the 04's. only difference in 05 was the acr package and that they don't have a battery temp sensor. other than that, they're EXACTLY the same as an 04. there were minor cosmetic changes made from 03 to 04, with the major upgrades being the addition of lsd and 04's come with 03 s1 injectors stock. that's it. and also contrary to what people want to think, unless you're autoxing your car around every bend the lsd doesn't really do a whole lot on these cars (yes i do know, i have an 03 and i now have a 04 tranny in it, didn't feel a difference at all between the two).
basically what it comes down to is what you find that you like. don't buy based on what "year" you think is better, buy based on how the car was treated and the deal you can get on it. when it comes down to it, they're all the same anyway once you start modding.

Your best bet would be like PSI said is not to worry about what year the car is just try and get a car that was taken car of and not dogged out. Find one with a good price and test drive a couple before you decide. I drove about 4 of them before I made my decision and I choose an 04 black because everyone knows they are the fastest.

How can a LSD not make a difference? I had a 130hp VW that would torque steer real bad. Don't know how an extra 100+ hp, or much much more when modded wouldn't feel the difference with LSD. Be it FWD or even RWD. Either the SRT4 never had a torque steer problem, or the LSD isn't doing its job, or PSI Chick has some world class forearm power?
I like all yrs but I love 05s cause of the white and acrs . But if you find 03-05s that appeals to you get it just watch out on the miles and look and see if the engine and tranny has been abused . Good luck at whatever yr you get.
srt's have a massive tourque steer problem, but the lsd doesn't do much to help that. tourque steer before the lsd and it's still there after. it doesn't help with launching either, got the same 60' times either way. it helps with cornering, and that's it. lsd's are kinda over rated in fwd cars, they don't have nearly the effect of a posi in a rwd car.
