Whats up guys, im new but i have been reading some of the threads on the site for a litte while, at least since before i bought my srt. I drive an 04 srt and i have done a stage one, turbo timmer, oil catch can, waste gate and blow off valve. I am about to invest in maybe the stage 2 along with an exhaust. I have heard that the borla isnt worth crap. Just wondering what you thought. I was leaning toward the ATR.

 

So who'd you hear that from, some ricers?

Seriously, the Mopar/Borla exhaust is great for up to and including anything a little beyond 300 HP, like 325HP, or more. With your mods, you aren't going to be getting near that, so why spend the extra $$$, unless you want to impress your friends while losing lower end power.

There are other regulars here on the forum that will probably say the same....

 

Atually, i dont like the term RICERS!!! I dont know if you ever saw that video of the fat kid who was talking bout his friends ingtegra and the other guy was acting like his civic was faster than a camero or something. Well, the fat kid is a kid i know. He was talking bout my other car, only he really didnt know what he was talking bout. I drive a 95 GSR as well. I am a compact car racing fanatic. I love my SRT but i also love my GSR. I dont do all the bs like body kits and wings, infact, im gonna buy a carbon fiber trunk lid so i can get rid of the wing on the srt.

Thanks for the info, every time ive read a post from you, you really seem to know what your talking about. Its nice to know some one like you that knows alot about the car before i waste my time and money on stupid stuff.

 

No, I can't say I've seen the video....Sorry if the term "Ricers" offends you, but if you stick around here very long, you're going to hear it a lot, not from just me, but since the majority of people here can afford to own only one car, they choose an Americn brand, like one of the ones you have.

borla makes great exhaust for american cars and thats probally why dusty said you hear they suck from ricers... becasue for asian cars there are more options and i wouldnt pick borla for my eclipse but its goin on my srt. im probally goin to sound like an *** for this but getting all out of shape over a term like ricer is pretty weak on your part man, i too own an american and asian car. i love mitsubishi and all the cars ive owned have been eather mitsu or dodge, i dont clam that my eclipse is riced and dusty wasnt saying your gsr was eather so i dont see why your all fired up. JMO but if your old enough to drive then you should have enough life exp not to get all offended by something as small as that. and its not to hard to make civics faster than cameros if you got the $$$. well thats my rant for the week sorry for jacking the thread....

 

i have my srt and a mitsu, i like them both, but i still can't stand ricers- that word connotes a whole different genre of automobile, although i will agree that at one time it just meant asian cars and motorcycles.

 

Your getting bad info, it has been dyno and track proven that the Mopar/Borla exhaust is as good as a 3" exhaust up until aroung 350 horsepower in which the larger 3" exhaust provides gains over the Mopar/Borla. If you check out Modern Performance or Maxxfab you will see the proof that the Mopar/Borla is the same as the 3" exhausts until around 350 horsepower.

 

I was afraid that yall would think that i was offended. Im wast taking the term to heart. I was simply stating. Cause where i live we refer to ricers as not only asian cars but those retards that think that wings and vynal add horsepower. The guy that gave me the info useually knows what he is talking about but he is full of it sometimes as well. As far as Borla goes, I had it on my 91 and 92 SHO. It was a great add on. I just want the BEST possible add on. Im in Al-Udeid Air Base right now and plan on buying a lot of parts so when i get back from the desert I can just add on like 25 hose or so.
