So far all of my "bugs" have been getting people to actually deliver the parts they promissed. I still have 2 parts I'm waiting on, both of which were promissed to me by the end of the week... We'll see, I've been given deadlines before only to see said deadlines come and go looooooong before getting the promised part.

I know this: if I ever build another car like this, I'm going to break down and buy a TIG welder and learn to TIG... that'll greatly reduce the parts I depend on others to make.

Ok, just an idea. Cant you guys get kevlar blanket style scatter protection? Does it have to be metal? I think kevlar is actually superior and would not weigh as much. Or is this too much of a custom issue that track inspectors wouldn't allow it because it would have to be designed for your car?

I looked into a blanket. There are "Universal" blankets which are SFI certified, the problem is because the differential is built into the housing, none of them are big enough to actually wrap all the way around. Plus you'd have to be careful, or make some sort of cage to keep the blanket from rubbing on the axle shafts.

There are companies out there that custom make kevlar blankets http://www.enginediapers.com/ they made mine for my dragster didn't fit quite to my liking at first, sent it back perfect the second time around. great service no complaints and SFI 7.2 legal.
Car looks sweet though maybei could make a pass?

Wow! Your car looks great. I see that u took the air bag out on the passenger side too.
Are u still planning on driving it on the street a bit?

It'll still be a street car... but w/ a 5pnt harness I figured the air-bag would be overkill.

The driver's side bag is still there so the steering wheel doesn't have a big hole in it.
