intercooler
well, in general cooler air= more efficent power productions. size isnt as much of an issue as quality. some intercoolers will lose pressue, meaning if you could hold 15 before you might lose 1 or 2 psi by changing intercoolers. just dont go with cheap crap, as it wont be as efficent and their welds and such may not be as good. not to metion better flow.
another issue with a larger intercooler is most are not direct fit, meaning you must remove your stock crash bar. which could be bad if your in an accident.

good answer flaming, but when me and myfriend crashed he didnt have a crash bar.We hit a tree at about 70 or 75 mphs without seatbelts. We both came out pretty damn good, just a couple of scratches, only bad thing was the motor flew out of the car.Insurance company didnt even noticed that it didnt have a crash bar, I dont think any of them do.If your gonna buy a fmic...check exhaust depot's Beast and Super Beast intercooler at exhaustdepot.com I've heard lots of good things about them
So a larger intercooler isnt bad for a stock turbo? I have a agp race intercooler dont know if you guys know what that is but havent installed it yet cuz I didnt know if it was too big for my stock turbo. Is it? Or is it not? Would it be safe to install it?
like stated, the issue could be distributing the 'pressurized' air over a greater areabefore it gets to the motor, causing a drop in pressure (or boost). so it could cause you to loose a little boost. most brandintercoolers are tested and have a rating as far as that goes. but i would see no problem with changing out the intercooler. im sure some guys on here have that specific fmic and could chime in on it. i would just go for the install and see if you notice any differences in performance or boost
i have the agp intercooler installed on my car.. u have to take out the crash bar.. you really dont notice that much hp gains really.. once u get up and lower pipes u'll notice a more hp gain in my opinnion.. one thing that ive noticed is once you put the intcooler in that its so big it blocks some of ur radiator so u run just a bit hotter.. around 180-200degrees. no biggie but thats what i've noticed.. its a real good intercooler!
