Texas is good for gas. Not any cheaper than anyplace else, but a darn site better choice of what to put in the tank....

Yep, Cali's crappy 91 octane is why the SCC magazines SRT-4 did so poorly at first with the Stage 2.

Thanks! I knew this forum would be a lot more informative than the dealership would be I couldn't understand why they would state that in the manual. I always used 93 in my 3000gt sl and I didn't have any problems (well not with the gas anyway). I traded it in for my SRT4 and I am so glad I did. I miss my gt but it was time to move on...to something faster ]

Dealerships can't hold a candle to this forum. Not bragging as a moderator, but I've saved some major $$$ thanks to this site and hopefully you will as well!!!

93 octane didn't become available in many areas until a few years ago. Before that, people were using octane boosters to increase the octane with sometimes bad results. The owner's manual is probably "playing it safe".
