Hahn Racecraft 16G turbo kit?
i'm not going to recommend one over the other, but i think that most people know where my bias lays. my only thing is that people look at the s3 kit and see a small turbo with a big price tag. they look at the other kits and see a similar turbo with a smaller price tag. the big thing that everyone forget is TUNING. i don't care how big or small a turbo you have, if it's not tuned right it's going to be slow and run like crap.
well see if u go with the stage kits, that is more for people who just wanna get the hp with out messin with there comp, basiclly like a bolt on hp, but if u go with aftermarket and get the AEM prog comp u can mess with everything on ur car, but if u go with the stage comps there already pre programmed for that turbo kit, so the comp is built for the mopar stage kits, yeah there good, i think for street, but for track and 1/4 mile runs i think aftermarket with the AEM comp, but it is the most pricey way, the AEM comp alone is over 2G's, but i heard that the s3 comp is good too if u dont wanna mess with the settings of ur turbo and engine, so its really on what kind of hp u want, u want 500+ then u go with aftermarket comps, u wanna keep it safe and not be blowing stuff every weekend then go with factory upgrades, and yeah with s3 kit u will need to upgrade some stuff, and i think that everyone knows what kind of stuff, more hp and tq u need things that will be able to handle that kind of power. that is my veiw on kits, now i maybe wrong on some stuff but that is what i have read on kits and heard from people, cause i have friends that drift and run 1/4 mile runs, so i ask them for advise on stuff.
you have it backwards. stage kits are better for the track than the street simply because they are designed to be run there. they offer more drivability (if left unmolested), and no tuning.
an aftermarket turbo with a standalone will always make more power, but probably 90% of people that are getting big turbos are not getting standalones, so that argument is kind of moot.
