Ok so i have an agp wastgate and a mbc and stage 1 together I used to spike 19 and hold about 17. Now recently I noticed itstill spiking 19 but falling off to about 12 by 5000. I figured it must be a boost leak it pisses meoff now i gotta make time to find the damn thing again.But today I was on the highway and going up a hill so i could mat it in 5th boost stayed 19 for as long as i wanted to stay in it! wtf so boost falls off more in the lower gears? Does this make sence? what could it be?

 

stock, yes the car has less boost in say 1st than other gears. but 12 is pretty low in anything but 1st.

btw, i read your holding 17. while its borderline for the stock system, do you have any fuel mods or larger injectors?

 

look man...anybody in 5th will hold 19 psi...but not till redline, because you'll eventually hit a fuel or boost cut.If you have fuel mods then no prob.Check for boost leaks and remember to replace your plugs and check your hoses everyonce in a while...you wont believe how many plugs I've seen falling to pieces and cracked hoses due to heat

 

No fuel mods I know i'm pushing the system but afrs are between 10.0 and 11.4 so I should be fine there

 

Yea I figured not till redline lol wasn't gonna do 150 to find out either. But for a good 30 seconds up the hill on the floor boost never dropped off (if i had a leak it would) all the other gears boost drops off slow and steady after about 3 sec. 2nd will drop to about 12, 3rd to 14-15, and 4th 14-15.I got plugs on order, its been awhile, wires are new. Hoses appear to be ok but ill have totest and make sure.

 

Reset your ECU and see if it does the same thing....

 

I'll give it a try, but boost is no longer controlled by the ecu.

 

yes it is. boost might not be controlled completly by the ecu, but everything else is.

 

well it didn't fix it. Any other ideas? could it be plugs? if its blowing out the spark should it stumble or just be down on power? down on power would make boost fall off. But it runs fine other then boost (down on power but thats to be expected). I'll be replacing the plugs thursday, any other ideas till then would be great!
