Default CV Boot

Well, I finally got to drive my R/T w/ SRT-4 swap down the road today.. its a beast, let me tell you...

But I now have a problem.. upon inspecting everything after my first ride to make sure everything held up, I discovered my passenger side CV boot had fallen apart! I have grease *EVERYWHERE*... It looks like it just slipped apart or something, the clamp is still in tact, the boot is not cut or anything.. the seal looks OK... has anyone else had this problem? Could it be the result of something not aligned correctly from the swap?

The parts I used are out of a 2003 SRT-4, I think there have been other reports of people having problems with their axels, but I am not sure to what extent! It looks as though everything is in good shape, though... should I take it to the dealer and see if they can put it back together for me?

The axel problems I've heard of come mainly from folks with high HP mods to their SRT-4s.......

Its not like the axel snapped or anything, though! The boot fell off... everything is in tact.. I am wondering if I could just take it to the dealership and have them put the boot back on and that solve the problem? I hope I dont have something off that is making it do that... Anyone have any ideas?

why dont you do it yourself? My axle messed up the day I changed my suspension, somehow I managed to cut the boot and it was downhill from then on!!Boots just dont fall off, so I'm wondering wth whent wrong.Put the boot back on and make sure its tight, and clean it really good and check it for cuts or scratches. If it does the same thing then you shouldtalk to an expert about this

I kind of figured that they dont just fall off, but from what I am reading the 03 axles have problems to begin with. I am really hoping I don't have something out of alignment that is putting added stress on the boot... Other than that, the car runs GREAT

Figured out my problem.. engine is sitting about 1/4" too low on the passenger side... the boot was rubbing on the K-frame
