Default Srt

Why is it that a lot of peep's don't know dodge make's a Srt-4. Iv'e gotten peep's who ask where i got the body kit, or the turbo set up from. It's like if they don't own a sti or evoIII they don't know what it is. Give's me more reason to shave all the emblem's and put plymouth superbird emblem's on it and really get them to ask stupid ?'s.

I've noticed the same thing. It gets old having to explain what you have under the hood. Even then, people are always surprised at how fast it is....

So many people are unaware of the performance that you could probably make a decent living on the money you'd make by taking bets on the outcome of races.....

I gotta agree with Dusty on the explaining thing... guys at work... people at car shows... people at non-DCX dealerships... friends... family... everyone...

I know I had a rant in the past about a car show I attended where I was rather upset after some rather rude comments were made in my direction towards my "just a stupid neon"... people just don't get it...

oh well... I have a car that costs less than most and is d@mn quick... so, I win

Exactly. I had two college-age guys walk by my car after I parked at the grocery store today. The closer they got, the slower they walked, and their jaws dropped lower and lower. I was in my police bicycle uniform that I wear while doing dispatch and I got out of the car as they came to a complete stop....

Them: What kind of car is that?
Me: A Dodge.
Them: Cool, must have cost a lot to get it looking like that!
Me: Actually, the exterior is mostly stock.
Them: How fast can it go?
Me: Between 150 and 160 mph.
Them: Nice car, "SIR"!!

(I hate being called "sir". To me it implies you are somone in a high position who has no idea of what is going on. No offense, barneydriver!!!)

SRT_YA, have you had a lot of guys/gals wanting to drive your SRT-4???

Sorry dusty, if you are in an police officers uniform, you get the "sir" Respect for the uniform and what you do. Just accept it, you earn it every day. I've had the same thing. "Where did you get that car done?" "Wow, how much did you do to that"

My screen background at work is a GREAT shot of my car right at the moment of launch at MIR. A pro photographer was at an event I was. We share a turbo dodge forum. He sent me the shot as gratitude for assitance he's recieved. One of the senior enginers is a fortyish lady who wanted an M3 but ended up in a 325i becuase of cost saw that pic.

Her: What's that?

Me: My car

Her: But what is it? And where was that

Me: Maryland International Raceway, its a variant of the Neon.

Her: You took THAT there? Why?

Me: To see if I could better my times and test myself and the car

Her: How fast is it?

Me: Faster than 5.6 seconds 0-60, better than 14 in the 1/4 mile, tops out over 150

Her: THAT!!!!????

Me: Yep, while I do love your Beemer, for ME, it's about speed, I love to go fast.

Her: But on a road track........

Me: I would have a slight edge, but you WOULD corner better. Problem is, no track is JUST corners.

I havent had anyone really comment to me on my car. Accept my boss at work telling me "move that hunk of [sm=smiley35.gif] out of my parking space." I told him we race for lunch he declined.

almost every body that have asked me about my car knows about it, the only time i can remember someone not knowing what kind of car was it was this chick from school that asked me what my license plates ment (BAD SRT) so i had to explain her that the name of the car was srt-4 and so on........ but everybody alse seems to like the car. another thing i noticed its that most of the folks driving the srt's are not so young, (not thats its a bad thing) its just that i thought that the car was aimed to younger people, but i've seen guys at theit 30-40's driving srt-4, for example i'm 17, ive seen about 5 or 6 diferent srt-4's around here, and about 4 were driven by older folks, which tells me that this car it's being liked by different generations, which it's verry cool. IMO....
