anybody know how to make a boost leak tester?
define wrong?
I mean, if you filled the leak detector with maynonaise and tried checking for leaks with that then you'd be doing it wrong???
I didn't check the link, but I'd imagine it says start up by the turbo and apply something like 10 psi of air pressure (nothing more than 15 or so)... and then listen... something a long those lines...

15psi? why would you do it so low? on the stock turbo i never did less than 20 and now i do 30! you have to check for leaks at least until the psi that you're running.....
the link does have directions on how to do a leak test. read it.

and don't do what that one idiot did and turn his car on with the tester in place. that wasn't good.

You'd be starving the engine for air, or did he have the line pressurized and then start it?? that could be really bad... you have the line pressurized at 20-30psi and fire the car up..... wow......
wow thats crazy that someone would do that, thanks for the site once again, will let you guys know how it is.by the way,im testing my car because i spike to about 20 and it drops to 14 to 15,is that a leak or normal?
