Bad Mistake
[:@]I would call a few places and see what they say it will consist of and how much it would cost. If its simple enough to do then maybe you and your friend could attempt to do it yourselves sparing him the cash. If it wont come out at all, thats not a good sign.
I havent had prior experience with this so I think Im at the end of the road for help.

Yeah I am going to make some calls tomorrow, but I do thank you for your help, and by the way, it is good to see you back, glad to hear that you are doing much better.
i would think you could put in a heli-coil without removing the head. check w/local auto parts. should be self tapping. be creative to catch chips. grease on threads. greased string threaded into cylinder. do it with piston at top.and valves closed. for getting the plug out - get rough with it can you pry out while turning it ?
Yup, blow out all the litter and remains with an air hose if possible. You can do it yourself, but not as well...........

always use antiseize compound on your threads and di-electric fgrease on the ceramics when you do plug changes.
I did the same thing your talking about in a old motorcycle of mine. I snapped the threads off of the spark plug[:@] and the thread ring was left in the head. Luckily I just tapped a flat screwdriver into the busted thread coil and then slowly backed it out.
It was a good lesson. Your thread ring sounds like it busted. You can probably lift the rest of the plug straight out of the head and go fishing for something to turn the busted part out with. Good Luck - I've felt your pain [8D]

We had set the torque wrench to about 25 newton meters. And i dont think i cross threaded it cause, i had hand tightened all the plugs first. And when i was hand tightening them they all went in very smooth. The problem happened when my neighbor went to go and tighten the first plug with the torque wrench. I think he might have snapped the plug just above the threads. If he did would it be safe to try and pull the remaining part of the plug out, without anything falling into the cylinder?

Connect the blower side of a shopvac or a leaf blower to the air intake ans pressurise that cylinder.
Then you can work on getting the remains of the plug out.
The pressure in the cylinder should blow any pieces that come lose back out the plug hole.
PS wear safty glasses.
