Advice on buying 03 srt-4
I work at a local dealership and usually can get the trade-ins at a very reasonable price. 2 weeks ago there was an 03 Srt4 neon traded. At first it didnt really intrest me, but having rode in a hooked up srt4 and remembering how fast it was, and how great of gas mileage is possible to get with one I decided to drive it today. After a second look I noticed it had the Stage 1 kit on it. It also has brand new performance tires, its been lowered, and it has a brand new windsheild (dealer had it put in, old one was cracked.) I talked to the guy in charge and he said the employee price was 14000, but since im a close personal friend he would let it go for $50 moere than they had in it, which is 13500. Should i Jump on it, or hold out for something else?

Check the spark plug wires. #4 may look crappy. Unless they've been upgraded from stock, they need to be replaced. Same goes for plugs. And figure on a tranny fluid change.
If the car has an oil catch can, that's a BIG PLUS.
Did the previous owner keep a maintenance record on it? Synthetic oil is supposed to be used.

From what YOU say, it's not a bad price. But since there is not proof of maintenance, I would talk the dealer down on the price.
How is the interior? Does the wear in the drivers area compare to the miles? Do the floor mats match the miles?

seems about right for the price. run a crafax on it just to make sure it hasn't been in any accidents or had any problems. I have an '03 that has not been molested and Ive got 42K miles on mine, runs strong still and the mileage racked up on mine excludes any winter driving at all. Its in the garage 3months out of the year.
