As I posted somewhere else, AGP motor mounts are a must. Get them now.
As a stage 0, on the street, 15-1800 rpm is a good launch rpm. Practice. Let the engines torque pull you out of the hole. Very little clutch abuse is needed. Control wheel spin with the throttle, not the clutch.
With wider rubber, on the drag strip and stg 2, I have raised my launch rpms a little (maybe 20 -2200rpm) also due in part to a few other mods that have created a low rpm soft spot along with a harder initial hit, that will allow the engine to bog then spin easier. The mods I have done have made it harder to get a real good 60 ft time. When I was stg 0, I was able to get 1.9 on street tires on occasion and 2.0's often. As stg 2 plus plus, I'm having a hard time getting consistent 2.1's. Though the car has significantly more power, it is harder to launch now. (this is all on the same 225 street tire)

That's because you need to get rid of that stock turbo ! .... spooling up at 2k rpms is cool and all,but it def. kills the launch.

If you launch from idle you're going to loose a lot of time.....
he actually ran one of his best times by doing this.

1700 rpms and feather the gas pedal until you get traction.I got a 2.0 60 ft on worn street tires by doing this so it must work

That's what I'm thinking. Wednesday I couldn't get my 60ft below 225, launching at 2500 on street tires. My best time was a lame 14.1 @ 102mph cuz of the crappy launches. My buddy (also stg1) did a granny launch (much like leaving a stop light) and managed to get a 13.3 @ 105 w/ a 2 60ft. I'm definately going to try the low rpm launch and/or the idle launch next time....

its all about how you control that gas pedal man. When you're on slicks theres no need to worry about feathering the gas pedal and crap like that....so buy a set of tires and stop beating on your daily driving tires.Mickey Ts got some great deals
