There is a reason the car has about 5 different places that is says "UNLEADED FUEL ONLY" How stupid can you be????????????

Yeah but why? To save a few dollars on gas? You know the car will run great on 100 octane unleaded, it cost a few dollars more, why put in cheaper leaded that could cost you more in the end, doesn't make sense. Lets spend $20,000 on a car, put $5000 or more in mods into the car and then save $10 on some leaded gas???????????????????
Im confuse about the whole AVGAS thing! Now, Im in avation (Blackhawks). We use JP8: if we really had no other choice use JP4, like the 53's--->helicopter. Now, JP8 is a cleaner deisel type fuel. Is that what racingchix put in the car? Or is it MOGAS? Now MOGAS is the worst Gas you can get....SH*T its lower than 87 Oct. probably 80 Oct.
Now I sometimes, like today, run 100 Oct and the car loves it, now that i can use the S2 toys with it. Someone metioned its the 100 Oct that cause the O2 sensor problem? Or did i miss something?

Dang Roach, I didn't know they even made MOGAS still!!!! I wouldn't put that junk in my lawnmower (if I had one)!!!![sm=smiley36.gif]
Does the aviation fuel still use tetraethyl lead as it's main octane booster? They use to use tetraethyl lead to boost the octane of gasoline to raise it's octane rating and allow aircraft to run in the thinner air.
quick facts, and I'll leave the aviation gas stuff to you engine types
Me, I'm an ordie
Anyway. Unless you are running high boost or have S2 with toys, don't bother putting in anything beyond say 94.
The car won't make any extra power beyond that.
See, the whole octane thing is basically the fuels burn rate. Higher octane burns slower, preventing detonation. So if you have really high compression on an N/A engine, like my 68 Cougar, above 9:1, or you are running really high boost, OR have a special computer program that changes your car to more aggresive timing and such
, you need the racefuel to prevent your car from having detonation.
This is how water injection can act the same as high octane fuel. It serves the same purpose, slowing the combustion rate by occupying space normally occupied by combustible fuel.
