when should you perform a ecu reset?
when should you perform a ecu reset?
For those that don't know, a "spring mod" is a carburater spring with an adjustable hook that attaches to the wastegate and hooks to the screw under the battery. This keeps the factory WG from bleeding boost at 4psi and keeps it shut till about 15psi. It does help but your computer does it's best to stop it, that's why you reset the pcm before you race to get the full benifits of increased boost. Hope this helps.
I would cuz your computer still "sees" your stock air box...and you want it to forget that. Just remember your computer will always put you in check until you get the stage 1. The stock ecu is a bit of a worry wart and keeps everything level so it takes some tricks to make it all work. When I first got my intake I lost alot of boost so that's when I added the spring mod to get some of it back. Basically, just read as much as you can about this stuff www.srtforums.com has a lot of useful info.
Mount the IAT sensor in front of the intercooler, you'll see that "worry wart" pcm go wild. Esp with stage one.
I made a nice set up to get cold air up to the short ram.
I mounted the IAT where the cold air comes in, it works nice.

I had a Durango that I moved the IAT and it helped a lot. It was originally in the intake manifold 'seeing' only hot air so I moved it to the intake tube of the cold air kit and it seemed to advance the timing just a hair. But, it's quite possible it was my emagination but I think it helped.

I've gotta help him put the damned pictures on here so you guys can see just what he did. The way he described it, i was like wtf? Then I saw it and I was like OOOOOO!
Paul the only thing I would worry about is rain, and deep puddles, I had that problem with my 01 Stratus R/T Coupe. Used to suck up water every now and then and bubble and gurgle a bit....but it lived.
Then again I don't even think your car knows what bad weather is!!!
