Coolant/Anti-Freeze for the SRT-4
I was told by my dealer service tech not to use "normal" antifreeze/coolant in the SRT-4 and the owner's manual says only to use Mopar HOAT antifreeze/coolant. Rather than pay the inflated dealer price, I checked Auto Zone and there is a new Prestone antifreeze/coolant that is compatable with 2001 and newer DCX vehicles and is also compatable with Mopar HOAT antifreeze/coolant.....it's in a silver jug with an orange cap.
$11 WTF X2!!!!!!! thats messed. up you guys should keep a good relationship with the service rep. i've gotten mines refiled twice at no cost (i hope it wasn't just water) lol.... I know its not much but its better than paying some crazy $11 bucks, but nice to know there's another option rather than the mopar one.
been using the prestone stuff for a bit - it has better ratings than Mopar's hoat coolant.
Where did you find that it had better ratings?? I'm just curious cause I usually always go by what the manual says, just to be on the safe side. For fear if something goes wrong BECAUSE I had this Prestone Antifreeze in....they'd tell me I wasn't reading the manual right, and may not fix the car.
Just wondering is all.
Is the Prestone fluid orange too? I noticed mine was bright orange after the accident when it was all over the road, flatbed, and everything else. Kinda like the OJ Blast.... [sm=lol.gif]
