Okay...What knob you got?
Yeh,
after driving the car for a week, I was showing off to some friends, when I punched it in first and while getting my first real taste of wheel hop, I lost the **** while slapping it into second. Needless to say, it was alittle embarrassing. Now my **** will not come all the way off, but will pop up a bit so that I keep having to push it back down into place. It's kind of annoying. I will get a new **** when I get my STS.
Hey PSIChick, where did you get that **** from and what did you pay? How does it clamp on? I would really like the black.

Yep, I've seen that one. I have a replacement **** that screws on so I can't rip it off anymore for now until I find one I like. I almost bruised my hand from driving the car without the ****.
Well I heard about people doing it and I wondered how, because the **** is tight as can be. Well I found out, pull 2nd back too hard and it comes off.[:@]
So it just flies right off the shifter itself into your hand?!!! I thought it was screwed on. The one in my Stratus R/T was, and the one in my Miata is. That sounds like a big problem, and I've jammed it into second hard ALOT of times, and I still cant get mine off.

The ones on the Neons are simply pushed straight down on and are held on with a clip that snaps into place. To remove it you just pull straight up really hard and to put it on you just push it back on until you hear the snap of the clip poping back in it's place.
