I don't know if I wanna try it or not....then it won't go back on right knowing my luck, but Ill keep that in mind when I get my car back and I'm flying through the gears jamming the little ballie around

 

werent your RT and miata autos? the shift **** should just thread off, counter clockwise, i believe.

 

Stratus R/T was an AutoStick. And despite my begging the Mazda dealer for the little graphite 6 speed mazdaspeed turbo i wanted.....they talking me into the $30,000 AUTOMATIC special edition. Still handles like a dream, but its not bad to have a cruising car thats an auto....

Yeah on the stratus I would take the two screws off, and that plastic piece would fall out of the top that was attached to the button and slide it right off. Miata's the same way. I guess on this 5speed youve got pull up and hard....and I'm not about to try it! lol

 

on the bimmer, it just screws right off..on the sebring coupe i drive frequently, it also screws rigth off

 

I managed to take my new **** off already going into 2nd again. It is held on by 3 screws, but I don't think I screwed it down tight enough. I tightened them down and we'll see if it holds now, I bet I rip it off within a week. Oh well..its only temporary.

 

When I changed the **** on my stratus R/T didn't matter how tight I screwed the screws in, they always seemed to come loose. Maybe i was a bit too violent in Autostick mode....[>:]

 

I think it keeps coming off because I seem to hold onto the ball when I pull straight back into 2nd. Maybe I need one with 8 screws like the one MP sells.

 

I hold on to the ball all the time....sometimes I'll use the bottom piece of the shifter to go into second, but rarely if ever. I drive like a granny for the most part. But holding the shifter screwed up my arm in my accident. Gwrrrr. lol Oh well, what can you do.

8 screws....jeebus where would they all go?

 

on my RT, the damn autostick **** just wont stay on...before i put the manual look mod on it, i did everything in my power to tighten down, and stil no luck.

 

Yip same problem I had BadStrat, then I got a different one, and it wouldn't stay on either.... *Sigh* lol I wish that was the problem with my car right now....but unfortunately its far larger than that.
