Spring Help
Are the Moper stage 1 springs a direct replacement for the stock springs or do they require different shocks or struts? Other than having the car re-aligned what else would be required (or recommended) along with the lowering by the stage 1 kit?
I want the coil-over's, but they are a bit pricey for me now and may be more performance than I really need. Along with it's power, if I can get this car handling like my wife's Miata, it will be insane.

Get rear endlinks, front bushings, and camber bolts. Then you will be all set.
ES Bushing Kit - Part# 9.8105GC
ES Rear Endlinks - Part# 9.8120GC
Goldline Front CC - 81260
Goldline Rear CC - 81250
There are different endlink lengths. If you search SRTForums, someone has a list for what the part number is for the type of drop you have. I think the ones I have listed is for a 1.5" drop. The ones I have are a different part number but don't have that number since I threw the box away. My drop was 2" and required a little shorter endlink. If you do a 1" drop, you wil want something a little longer. When I have time, I can find the different part numbers and list which ones you need for each type of drop.

Yes definitely get an alignment, camber, front bushings and rear endlinks.
You don't want negative camber like a minitrucker.....or like a honduh who cut his stock springs and "dropped his tyte whip yo"

Yeh,
I bought my wife the grey 2002 "Special Edition" and the plan was that I was going to be able to modify it, but the wife changed her mind, hence the SRT-4. The miata is a great handling car, but with a little work and some money, I think that I will be able to get the SRT-4 pretty close.
Thanks for all the info on the needed parts, Steve. Now I am just trying to decide between the Mopar or the Tein H-tech springs. Im wondering if I will get more drop with the Tein's? I'm also taking a look at that 22mm rear sway-bar by Progress, at Modern Performance. It's a nice "BIG" bar.
I have decided that I am going to seriously improve the handling before I spend any money on "go faster" parts.

Yeah I wanted the Mazdaspeed turbo one close to 200 hp in a 2klb car. Grey? The Shinshen? 2003 had mine: Strato Blue Mica one of 1549 made, and a Shinshen version which I thought was a 2003 version. And I thought yellow was the 2002 edition. I may have it wrong. I may end up having to get rid of my miata, but if I don't...I can get that car into the 12s easier than you can get the SRT-4 into the 12s. But yeah the SRT with the right suspension could come close....
But nothing compares to the handling of those little cars.....except maybe the handling of other true sports cars.
I would inquire with your dealer to see if he'll cover the mopar suspension first under warranty. I know that my dealership would. Some dealers do, most don't. But its worth a try to call around and see. Then at least if anything happens to it you wont have a huge bill on your back for the Teins.

SexySRTChick,
thanks for all those great pics of set-ups. I cant decide which one I like.
I talked my GF into getting an SRT4 soon. We both agree that it NEEDS to be lowered. I tried a search for suspension, but didnt come up with much. I am into coilovers and full suspension for my cars...but, it's going to be her car...she not all into that. She is not going to be racing around like I would be. We just want it lowered to get rid of the gaps, but have a nice ride.
So, which would you reccomend for her? Also, do you guys have a Vendor section? We will be looking for rims too.
sorry for the N00b questions.

EDIT:
ps. sorry I was looking at those pics again and wanted to know also...where can I get info on the Mopar Stages, and the Variants?
