With your current mods listed and not having a staged ecu , your boost would be fine set to 16psi. You are going to run rich without any fuel controlling device, it's a safety feature.

He's right. The car is awful about running rich until you get a stage pcm upgrade. I beg to differ on the overboost code though. When my car was stock with just a cold air, anywhere above 4k rpm at wot i was pulling 18 psi and never got an overboost code. And i didn't have a boost controller.

and it was probably very hot out when you were seeing those numbers. ecu controlled boost is heavily dependant on weather.

Its west texas. Yeah, the temp was probably in the lower 90's so you could say it was hot. I don't get that though, i thought colder air was more dense, therefore more boost and more horsepower (when air temps are cooler). I'm not tryin to tread on you, I just don't get it. My dad has a drag mustang, and i know when its cooler he runs faster.

when the air is cooler it is more dense. hence you run less boost and make the same power as higher boost with less dense air. remember the ecu is designed to produce a certain amount of power, and it will change boost levels to achieve those desired levels.
