Boost leak?
I've had my CAI on for a couple months now, and I've noticed something lately, perhaps it had always done this, perhaps not. While driving to work or home from work, I am unable to get full boost untill about 2-4 minutes into the drive, I've not noticed this before, but I've really not payed attention. However, I can park the car, come back about 20 mins later and full boost right away. Is my car sick? Clamps need tightening again? Normal with a CAI? [X(]
PS. I shoudl have added this into my last post, but totatly forgot to... sorry

disconnect the neg. batttery for 7-10 mins. let the ECU reset itself? Plus check all hoses it will not hurt. But, its doesnt sond like a leak to me since you do have boost after a few minutes of drive.

Wow, I don't think mine does that, but then again I wait until it is at operating temperature before really having fun. Mine will produce far more than 5 psi boost when cold started though.
Wait... you only get 5 psi total?? or a lost of 5 psi's? Due to the F.A.T (Free Ait Temprature), colder air is denser so the PCM will adjust itself for the right A/F mixture. I to lost a few psi's (around 4-6) when it got cold here. But, there was a week of warmth (68-70 degrees) and i was right back at 18 psi's.
Hope that helps...

Mine does this also. Some kind of safety deal when its cold. I only get like 5 psi for the first few minutes.

I do know that your CAI cannot be the cause of a power loss, because all it does is make the turbocharger get the air from a certain area, you can run it just fine even if you were to completely remove the CAI and let the turbo pull in the air straight with nothing attached to it. The turbocharged pro drag cars have nothing attached to the intake side of the turbo, but some will put a filter directly onto the turbo.
It is most likely just lower boost from the colder air as was mentioned above, but you will still have the same power regardless.

Let me rephrase me previous post. When the car is cold, max. psi was 5 until it warmed up for a couple of minutes. It didn't matter what time of year it was. I know this because after work one night I raced a guy from work who had a S-10 truck with a 355 motor stuffed in it. When we pulled out the parking lot he got me pretty bad then I noticed I wasn't getting full boost. Told the guy, let's try it again in a couple of minutes, this time I pulled him hard after the car warmed up. This was only on a stock car. My stage 2 gets full boost right away which I don't think is a good thing.
