Default Time to shop, Dusty?

I just got a big raise at work and thought. . . hmmm. . . I wonder. Nationwide the prices aren't this good, but this is right in my stomping grounds. (I haven't checked on it yet but it seems like there may be something wrong with it/the deal.)

They don't hold value very well, even though they are quite rare. If you were wondering more about it, check the KellyBlue Book Value, the edmunds.com value, and the NADAguides.com value (nada is what almost ALL dealers use around here). And power windows...is only in the front.

I never buy used cars...you could get an awesome deal on a leftover 04, but if your stuck on yellow obviously 03 would be for you.

And if your really nervous, run a carfax, or make the dealer run one. You can do that you know. If you ask for a carfax, they have to run one, at least here in RI. They CANNOT hide the car's history from you.

I would look in to that real good!! These cars dont hold value to good but that is a iffy price?? Your in CA? Do you know any Body people or Machanics?? Check the body lines real good!!

Carfax will not tell you the truth. If it was fixed in a ma & pa shop with out the insurance knowing it will not show up. If the motor blew up and they got another from a junk yard it will not show up. I have friends in places that can get it by and If I can so can other people!! I would have a machanic come out and look over it or take it to some one that you can trust to go over it with a tooth pick and make sure its never been wreaked!!!

I am in TX and when I used to go to the junk yard for parts you would come accross some wierd stuff. I saw them just get a car put to geather front of one car that had a smashed rear and wield the back of another car that had a smached front and put the together by wielding!1 I asked them if they were going to sell it they said yea, they do it all the time and it was a 99 perlude they puzzled together. the car had hardly any milage too.

So a lesson here dont always trust your eyes!!!!!

Seeing that it's being sold by a Dodge Dealer, it's probably not a wreck, they have a reputation they need to protect.

I'd still run the carfax on it though, just to be safe. You might want to see if it comes with any type of dealer warranty.....

I worked for a Dodge dealer, and a few used cars that we let go off the lot (not sold by me sold by others) were previous wrecks....

Take it to an Autobody/Mechanics guy to make sure everythings mint with it for the mileage it has. And definitely make sure its never been in a frame machine.

Unfortunately the lady who I took on a test drive in the vehicle asked me if it had ever been in an accident. I said I honestly wasn't sure, but I would check for her. Come to find out, everyone in the damned dealership knew that it had been but didn't tell me. I was up front and honest with the woman and said hey, you know even though this makes my check smaller this week I'm not gonna put you in a vehicle thats had frame work done.

She appreciated my honesty, and said she had never met a nicer salesperson before, and wished she could have dealt with me for her sons car. Oh well call me stupid, but I don't have it in me to prey on others. I'm not a predator. I'm prey myself.

Hey thanks for all the advice guys. . . but I think Dusty knows I'm just razzin' him. Truthfully, I'm a mechanic by hobby--ASE courses with Chrysler sponsering etc. Can't blame you for not recognizing me 'cuz I ain't been 'round much since my new job and starting the MBA program--but check out the Sig line SexySRTChick. Those are just the four wheeled vehicles. I've been around cars for a long time.
