INSTALLING MOPAR BOV
My five star dealer charged me about $85 about 3 1/2 years ago. It may be a little more now. Buy some Permatex Hypolar sealer and tell the mechanic to put it on one side of the gasket.....

Might want to read what some of these folks suggested after doing it themselves.........

didnt it come with directions for install? your better off doing it yourself, really easy except for the 3rd bolt, better find someone with small hands! took me about 20-30 min to install myself.
If i had it all to do again I would have never installed the f'ing thing in the first place. The damn thing blows off under vac for christsakes. Not work the pain in the *** it would be to uninstall it so I'll just have to live with it blowing off like crazy...lol.

Picklicious (SRT FORUMS)
SO I installed my mopar BOV today...
I read up on all the forums so I was prepared to deal with the pain factor of that 3rd bolt.
Nothing could have prepared me for how awfuk it enaded up truly being.
Took off intake, filter and housing, battery, and battery tray, also did the 2nd 2 booger bushings at the same time.
1st off, getting the stock BOV plate off was a snap... I got a racheting 10mm wrench... i dunno how the **** you would do this without it...
Well, 1st complication. The mail oil feed line was totally in the way of even getting that 3rd bolt thread started! I was like, WTF. It barely budges too, so somehow I managed to get both hands in there from the battery side, retract that iol feed line, and get it started. That took forever.
2nd complication. Couldnt get the ratcheting wrench onto that bolt because of that ****ing oil feed line!!! Somehow managed to get the wrench STUCK between the bolt and the BOV. I mean, STUCK. I had to hammer it out eventually and it dropped into the engine somewhere. Another hour, wasted.
3rd complication: Getting the goddamn ratcheting wrench back. HAd to jack up the car, crawl under, and using a flashlight finally located the wrench. Wheeee.
Finally got that damn ****ing 3rd bolt on tight. Thrashed my hands and forarms, cause I kinda stripped the threading on the bolt when I hammered out the wrench. Another hour... gone. My back was killing me, and most of the skin on my hands was tore up.
4th complication: Got everything back on nicely. Fired her up. sounded great, idled her warm, and let her rip wot. hrm, only got 5 psi full throttle. I was like AHHHHHHHH I GOT A LEAK. Then smelled something awful. Smoke started billowing out my hood. My heart sank. Had I forgot something>??? :crying:
Opened hood, smoke billowing out of turbo. Heart sank further. stopped the engine. walked 30 mins back to my apmt. Cursing all the way. HAd I fried my turbo??? :eeeek: :eeeek: :eeeek:
Went back onto the forums, looked up turbo diagrams, learned the pipes, hoses and such like the back of my hand, and went back out to my car.
One quick test confirmed my suspicions. Main oil feel line bolt was loose, had leaked oil onto turbo, where it got cooked and smoked me out. Tightened line. Started her up again.
Well, that did the trick. Back upto my stock 14 PSI, awesome PPSSHHHH sound from the BOV, and no more smoke. Kissed the ground and thanked the SRT Gods.
Total time: 4 hours. 2 pints blood lost.
Was it worth it??
Hell yes... worth every min. :eveilgrin
But... I have to say, that was the worst install EVER. GG. That 3rd bolt can rot in holy hell.

but that 3rd bolt was horrible!!! my wife eventually finangled her hands into place and got the damn bolt on without too much trouble... which pissed me off even more
yeah, it took me two or three hours to do... but that was tying in installing OCCs, K&N intake, and the Mopar STS & bushings along with the blue plate. figured if i was gonna tear it apart I might as well knock out a bunch at once. good times
