2006 Dodge Plan
The neon and SRT-4 as we know them will be no more. The new "neon" will be built on a Lancer platform with a Hyunda powerplant. If you want a SRT-4, the 2005 model is your last chance.....period.
Okayyyyyyyyy HERE GOES!
After 2005, there will be no more stratus name whatsover, nor will their be a Neon name. Mitsubishi and Dodge have kind of "mended" their marriage so to speak. So the Lancer EVO will be made by Dodge in 2006. The new neon, which will not have that name, will be based off the Lancer Platform, there will also be a sportwagon model of the "neon" made. The Charger and Magnum have taken away the Stratus Sedan and Intrepid Sedan. Late 2005 Magnums will have an AWD option as well as the RWD option, and the Charger is expected to do the same with its debut in Feb 2005, and being on the market late 2005 as a 2006 Model. Dodge is looking to incorporate a smaller SUV into its line something along the lines of the size of the Pacifica and PT Cruiser, but will more than likely take on the platform of the PT Cruiser, and the Dodge Ram's design should change as well within the next few years. However as with all trucks that is only for the 1500 models, the 2500 and 3500 models will change a year after that. All trucks are done the same way. The SRT-4 will not be produced after 2005. It was a three-year limited production vehicle. The Durango may be made a bit longer and wider. The Caravan series will stay very much the same. The Dakota's have been COMPLETELY re-vamped for 2005, being the only truck in its class to offer two V8s, and being the widest, strongest, and longest truck in its class, with the best overall interior room. AND it has a Dodge-first: Heated CLOTH seats. Yes, CLOTH seats. Late production Dakota's will also feature a Getrag 6-speed Manual gearbox STOCK, which was featured on a rolling chassis at the Fall launch tour I attended. Quite a nice setup if I do say so myself.
The new "neon" based off of the Lancer platform will have a Hyundai based engine, to the best of my current Knowledge. The mule of the sedan is absolutely hideous, if I do say so myself. If you haven't seen it I posted it somewhere else, and I'll post it here again. The engine will be a 2.4L i4, thats Dodge's new engine of choice, and it will continue to be an FWD vehicle, while the rest of Dodge goes RWD and AWD. Like I said a sportcross wagon will also be created.
The AVENGER is coming back, only it will be a 4-wheel drive Sedan that is quite similar to subarus now. That will be Dodge's mid-size sedan. It will be an AWD car with a v6 powerplant, similar to the power of the Dodge Stratus R/T.
The two seater 3-cylinder Slingshot will NOT be made, but people are fighting for the Razor with its i4 and 14,995 price sticker.
Dodge will also have another line added, but it will NOT be called Plymouth. Right now the name is up in the air. Its geared to be less expensive (i.e. 14,995 razor and the new "neon") and it is not supposed to be geared at a young audience as far as performance is concerned. But it will feature vehicles with better reliability, gas mileage, and lower prices for those who need it. I.e. college students, high school students, and those who just went out on their own.
I think I've got it all down....I'm drawing such a blank right now. If I can remember any more knowledge that was taught to me.
OO OO wait!! I just remembered something!! Dodge will also be coming out with a Sport Utility Truck. Yes an SUT, much like the Explorer has been redesigned for Ford. Dodge's SUVPS policy is going to shine through in all its vehicles. I can't remember the last S on that though. But Dodge is going for a vehicle with the utmost in Utility. And when compared to other vehicles in its class...Dodge comes out on top through it all. Its just a matter of people not liking the new look.

And as for a new Dodge performance car? Yes the Magnum SRT-8, will see production, as of when I'm not too sure. Dodge isn't going to come out with anything like the little SRT-4 for quite some time. And I do believe the SRT-4 has the lowest production of any Dodge vehicle past the year 2000. With the 2004 Solar Yellow being the most limited.

It may very well be. As the fastest FWD car DCX has ever made, and probably the fastest production vehicle in its class ever made it may be. I forsee the 2004 Solar Yellows as being the most limited. With Blue and OJ Blast to follow.
You know what that means right?? Take care of your baby!!!
