Hopefully this doesn't get booted to "Off Topic"
since we have such a diverse group of SRT owners (age/education/taste), I was curious to know what everyone did for a "living"... I know some already... but I thought it would be interesting to see how everyone affords their cars and all these mods
... haha...
me, I am a Mech. Engineer for a company that makes Crankshaft Manufacturing Systems...
"talk Nerdy to me baby!" - hahaha

i have a few jobs, well it also depends on what you call a job....
1. full time student. i am working on my Ph.D. in developmental psychology from yeshiva university, at the albert einstein college of medicine.
2. part time payroll manager and hr recruiter/researcher. pays the bills, not very exciting.
3. internship - play therapy and language development at a school for developmentally disabled children. i am currently working with 4-7 year olds.
4. interview families and collect data for studies in the epidemiology department at einstein. i also imput and analyze data from the studies.
5. i also run a dog walking business on the side to make extra cash. believe it or not, it's actually very profitable.
so that's what i do, keeps me busy and broke until i can work full time, which should be in may. i'll be done with classes after the spring semester so i can work full time while i'm doing my dissertation.

Amy (PSI Chick),
that is amazing... I have known a few people going into different areas of psychology... the funny thing to it is - they were all as "busy" as you seem to be... 5 different jobs and on the "go" at all times... funny... good luck though!!!!
your boyfriend has got to love that kind of schedule! HA! (joking)

Most people already know I work for a police department. Before that it was the U.S. Air Force for 21 years (retired as a Master Sergeant) and after that I was the assistant production supervisor for an electronics company in Shelby, N.C.

My Jobs??
I don't have one. Right now I'm part time at Rhode Island College for business management, I already went through two years of Pre-Medical studies, and then decided I just couldn't give up my passion and talent with cars. So earlier this year I became a professional detailer. I do work on the side such as fiberglassing, painting, sanding, small mechanics, parts installs, and full details, but never charge anything for it. I did an 8-step 10 hour $1,000 dollar detail on a friends Lexus IS300 that was beat to hell for free. I just can't take things from people. That car never looked so good in all its life.
I'm hoping to start detailing on the side once my foot is healed from surgery, probably come January. I have far too much pain to be able to stand long enough to work full-time. When I was Detailing I was working 80-90 hours a week, and I loved the job, but everytime I get a job in an automotive field, I'm harassed. [>:] Pisses me off, but one day I'll have my own shop, and they'll all have to listen to me!

thanks for the encouragement
it's been a hard few years with it all, mainly because i'm trying to get out of school early. i did four years of classes in three, so it's been quite hectic!!!!
srt_ya, you're right about this field. us psychology people always seem to have a few jobs and projects going on at once, it must be something about out profession, we can't just do one thing at a time lol.
as for my boyfriend, he's as busy as i am so we don't see each other much as it is. he works 7:30-4 then goes to school from 6-11. he's getting his certs to be a master mechanic.
