Default stutter while accelerating

While in fifth gear and accelerating at 3/4 to WOT, I get a jerking, slipping feeling when driving. No mods. Anyone have a clue? 47000 miles to date. Thanks.

Plugs were new 11000 miles ago and are still tight. Like I said it only happens in 5th gear. I can drop down to 3rd and hammer it and it does not do it.

11k is WAY too long to leave a set of plugs in this car. change your plugs.

Originals were in 36000 with noproblems. Service Manual calls for 36000.

PSI Chick is right despite what the service manual says. Plugs don't last all that long in these cars, mine were cooked at 7500 miles. Somewhere a ways back I posted apic of them after I changed them.........I had never seen the colorpurple on a spark plug before...

The question then is, why is it only doing it in 5th gear at 3/4 to WOT?

Would the Iridium plugs be the problem?

I'll defer my response to PSI Chick, she's got experience with Iridium plugs......me, I'm cheap, I use Champion Plats, Mobil-1 oil from Wal-Mart, and Chevron 93 octane...........

the better question is why are you at 3/4 to wot in 5th gear? unless you're on the autobahn and topping out at 160 then you need to start downshifting
