Thats why I said only a "few owners have reported". And said "its not nearly as common as the others". I know of more than 10 cars that have had that problem though.

And I have known some people who's E-brake light stays on, not flashes with that problem. And had a friend who had that problem after 3k miles. Its all in how you drive the car and how it wears.

if someone's ebrake light is staying on like that after only 3k then something else is going on. they either need to stop riding their brakes like grandma or something happened from the factory. that is not normal at all.

They probably drive like ********, but once they put the fluid in, it went away, the dealership stated it was the same problem as those who have the light flashing. They more than likely ride the brake and clutch like grandma so they could be the same people with the flywheel bolts problem LOL

Okay, time to solve the "Mystery of the Missing Brake Fluid!!!!!"

And if this seems simplified, keep in mind, not all folks have the same knowledge level, and need it broken down more.

As you use the brakes, the pads wear. As they wear, the piston moves "forward". Picture a tube of chap stick or lipstick, with the bottom plate moving up as you use the product. Now as this happens, fluid fills in the space behind the piston. Where does this fluid come from?

You guessed it, the master cylinder, which is fed by the resevoir. So, as the pads wear, the fluid level drops. On this car, for whatever reason, this happens more rapidly than the norm. Also, the sensor in the resevoir appears to be pretty sensative. So for most folks, it starts as a brake indication upona hard launch, for some, it might get so low quickly enough to just stay on.

In either case, the fix is easy, add some fluid. If that does not fix it, and your not a mechanic, take that sucker in.

Oh, and yes, my car exhibited this. At about 38K, I think.

Awesome thanks for the info. I have a 92' Honda Prelude thats all moded out but not fast at all (I never try to race anyone due to this) but it handles like a dream. They told me about all these factory mods that you could do to your car without voiding the warenty but they didnt give me any prices......Do they have a factory lowering kit with springs and shocks?
I have found the newest Preludes all moded out to be quite slow as well, I had the fun of kicking the crap out of one with hardly any effort what so ever. He started it and I finished it.

Yea the newer preludes are even slower than the older ones due to all the added weight and what not. Not to mention they are pretty ugly [:@].

A little off topic but what do you guys think of the new Chevy Cobalt that will be coming out sometime this year? Supposed to come with a supercharger or something like that I hear.

They copied the SRT-4 look but didn't go far enough with an engine. It'll be an easy kill for a SRT-4....
