Default G-Tech computer

Does anyone out there have one of those G Tech performance computers that mounts to the windshield? I'd like to know how accurate you feel it is before I drop two and a half for one.

i have a friend with one. they're supposedly fairly accurate, but you do have to program them correctly, which is a pain from what i've been told. i've never used it personally, never really saw the point or need....

Paul spend the cash on a SAFC-II instead. But your a nut, you might benefit from the G-Tech.

the HP ratings are not accurate (this is from my powertrain professor in college... a man much smarter than myself ). The problem is the formula they use in the logic to calculate the HP assumes too many parameters and uses an estimated value for various points. As for the 1/4 mile times and such, there wasn't much discussion.

As the professor put it... a waste of money... but to each their own... I have not personally used one...

tested it to be within 5 hundredths 2 times at the track. 70% of carmagazines incl Car and driver...use it to get their numbers.

Agreed the hp # is bs but the times are pretty damn accurate - just make sure you program it for your car's wiehgt, roll... parameters(pretty easy).

no... hahaha... it's from the #5 ranked private mechanical engineering college in the nation (according to http://www.kettering.edu/newsArchive...09f004c31e.htm ) hehehe...

Most Northwood students I wouldn't trust to put gas in my "beater" car... haha
