Roll Cage Question
i love this car, but in the back of my mind I will always know that it is a neon. Knowing this I have been considering putting in a roll cage. Anyone know of a cage that will not make my back seat useless? On top of that, how difficult is it to install. I have a friend who is a very good welder.

any nhra legal cage will make your back seat fairly useless

but if you're gonna cage it - get a second cheap car to drive and make it a track car
I've seen one, and I can't remember where that the backseat was still useable....Sheet....i wish I could remember where I saw it. It just kinda wrapped around the back of the two front seats but you could still fit someone in the back.
Unless your under 11 seconds here in NE, at the NE Dragway you don't need a rollcage. Get a hi-tower strut bar, and rear strut bar, some sway bars, and lower your center of gravity. I have no knowledge of any of these cars flipping. I don't see the need for a rollcage unless your going to a track and it demands that you have one.

for that - get a sparco bar from b'pillar to b'pillar, sways, stb's and bushings allaround. You should be real stiff then. I would worry about hitting a 17 month olds head on any bars exposed in the car if there is a problem.
I don't mean to preach or sound like an old man, but be careful with the car and what you do to it if you carry a toddler in there.
Good luck.

I agree. I have definiatly thought about that, and that's why I made this post. I f done correctly, I think that it could make the car safer for him. I always put him in the middle seat, so if the bars were wide, they should be out of the way. My number one concern is my son. if it doesn't work, it doesn't work. By the way I am in Newark, De. Not to far from you Posthondaemoval. thanks.
