LOL RR! [sm=icon_rofl.gif]

Obviously it wouldn't control those things, but yet still I've never seen anyone even bother buying one, like....what would the point be? Like I said it reminds me of the fast and the furious

Sexy, as far as pure dataloggers, the only real purpose is just that, to log data Say you are playing with raising boost levels, and want to know exactly what parameters trigger the PCM into pulling timing. Or are putting in a bigger front mount intercooler and want to see what it's actual effect on charge air temp.

Now for my Stage 2 car, I would love to be able too see exactly what conditions trigger the intercooler spray. And be able to compare pre water injection intake temps with post water injection temps. Or investigate what things change in racegas mode and how they change. For instance, I recently raced a car equipped with a WGA, side exit exhaust, a boost controller, stage 1.

We ran three times on the way down. Once regular, two racegas for me. From a 30mph roll. All three runs a dead even match. We swapped cars (where it turned into single lane) for the 3 mile run to the restuarant. On the way back, we ran twice more. both times, on racegas mode, he just walked away. What changed? I suspect he did something while driving it that made the PCM unhappy enough that it pulled timing or something. Not sure. But the conditions were identical, 30mph roll, WOT runs to 1/2way through 4th.

Did my driving skills just go away? Did he get a shove in the *** from the gods? With datalogged runs, I would know for sure.

So they do serve a purpose, but not for most folks, who wouldn't understand the data anyway, or know enough about testing methodology to analyze it accurately. And honetsly, I couldn't justify the purchase of a laptop just for this, but if I already had one, I would get the logging setup.

Hmmm I have a laptop already that I don't use for nuffin. It just chills cause it hates the internet. I think I'll fix the harddrive, and once I get the car modded up enough then I'll buy one of these puppies. Now that you put it in those terms, it seems less Fast & Furious, and more neccessary if you really wanna know whats hiding under that hood, and EXACTLY what its doing.
