The lesbarus.....ooops, sorry, Subarus, Ahem, go by unnoticed in traffic all the time. My SRT-4 is a great " What the hell is that cool car" getter. I don't knock the Subie's though, they are nice.

PSI Chick, the reason i was beat up so bad, was because of previous injuries from an accident a couple years ago, when I was REAR ENDED BY A DRUNK SUBIE DRIVER!! (lol had to put that in caps to emphasize that it was a subaru). My injuries aren't really from that accident entirely. So therefore, don't make a statement like that if you don't know anything about it. I'm not talking about me, I'm talking about the damn car and how the car holds up! That first subaru the dude walked out with a few scratches and a bruise. ITS NOT ABOUT HIM ITS ABOUT THE CAR!

I obviously don't own either cars...but I know two people who have WRX's. One had a problem with one of his gears (4th gear I think). Now his car is modded and he races it (drag races) and they fixed his gear problems under warranty. I believe Subaru gave him a hard time, but they still fixed it under warranty. Just wanted to throw that out there for you.

Well the big question is what do you want to do with your car? and what are you willing to spend?

If you are goin to do minor mods or dont want to spend that much to go fast then SRT, but if you want to dump a lot of cash and make a high hp car (500+) then you would have to do a lot more mods to the WRX than SRT but i think an evo VIII would be the best for that.

I love my SRT and wouldnt consider a WRX at all. to me the question should be SRT or evo VIII. a co worker has a WRX that hes put about 3k in to and the only hp mods i have are CAI, cat back exhaust, and plug wires. and he can take me from a launch and till about late 3rd gear but after 4th sets in i steadly walk away.ive yet to race him since i learned how to launch. hes always compareing his car to mine. and after i beat him after my mods he was pretty pissed that i payed less than $600.

So to sum up your question of SRT or WRX..... SRT all the way man.

both cars have their advantages and disadvantages. it's really about what you want from the car as gump said. given your location, the awd isn't as big a factor except when launching. there's significantly more drivetrain loss in an awd system than a fwd one, so small mods don't have as large and effect on the wrx like they do on the srt. there are large aftermarket fields for both cars, so that is not an issue for either car. the wrx has been around longer, so there is more known about the car, but that too depends on what your plans are with the car. are you looking for a 10 second track car? a 12 second street car? how much money do you have to spend not only on the car, but on mods if you chose to do so? how far do you want to mod the car (new turbos, etc.)? how much time to do you have to spend working on the car? (the srt i've found to be a much easier car to work on than the wrx). it's all about what your goals are for the car, and be realistic with yourself about it.

Again, the injuries a person sustains from a car accident does not rely on the accident alone. If someone who has weak bone density gets into the same accident as someone with good density, in the same car....the person with less density will likely be hurt more. You absolutely cannot use that comparison. I'm not gonna keep beating at that dead horse with you. I got hurt the way I did because of how I was injured in the past, from another accident. It made what already happened, flare up all the more.
