Hey all, This is my first post, so here goes!! Does anyone know if there is a difference in the radio decks, between the Livin' Large deck and the standard system.

The Livin Large deck has a single disc in-dash CD player, and only a treble/bass control. And below it has a 6 disc in-dash changer. Heres a picture of the Livin' Large one.

there were seom changes in the radio for the 05's. just saw it a few weeks ago when an orange blast showed up to one of our meets.

the way that you control the bass/trebel has changed. also, when you turn up or down the volume it has a display about it now. this car did have the kicker system in it as well. the owner reported that he had looked at other 05's that didn't have the kicker system and it also had the different radio controls, and that he saw the difference from the 04's. it's been so long since i had my stock head unit in the car that i honestly can't tell you that i noticed the differences myself.

anyone that still has their stock head unit in a 03/04 feel free to jump in.....

Chrysler finally started doing away with the old corporate black and grey flat connector style radios in like 03 and 04 in other models. Looks like its caught up to the SRT. Unless you do some splicing, the new one won't fit the older cars. I like the display for the volume control on those, it should have the PTY station ID feature if it's one of the new ones. I'm disappointed with my Kicker system. For starters, the sub needs a much bigger amp, you can't hear it unless you fold down the right side if the back seat. [>:] That's like my only bitch with the car. The front end of the system sounds good though.

He's right it does sound alot better with the backseat on the passenger side folded down, gives it the little bit that it was missing. It mostly doesn't "Kick" well because 1. it doesn't have a strong enough amp to power it. It looks like a Comp sub from kicker, almost like a Comp VR that I installed once in a friend's car. and 2. its not pointed in the right direction. Its far too close to the side wall of the car's trunk for the sound to accurately form itself and "bounce" around the car. The sound is contained in the corner of the trunk by the plastic stealth-like enclosure that its in. A/M headunits make a huge difference, from what I've heard in other's cars. It gives you slightly more amplification, and also allows you to control the bass/treble more than you normall would be, and has a better equalizier. This all depends on which radio you buy....but if you wanna save weight and don't want a huge set of 12's or 15s in your trunk, and want a little bass, the Kicker is for you. Just tweak it, and it'll make you happy
