Default Parking brake light

Yesterday I hit second pulling out into traffic and I heard a ding noise. I looked down at the dash and saw the parking brake light flash on. A few minutes later I did a hardpull in second gear and had the same thing happen. Anyone have any idea why this may happen. I have a stock 2005 srt-4 with about 40000 miles.

After doing that, tell the gremlins to leave your car alone.........they like playing with the chime........

yup, low brake fluid. when you accelerate hard, it 'pulls' the fluid to the rear of the resivor, away from the 'low fluid' sensor. then when you let up on the acceleration, it moves forward again. simple problem... ijust think ofthe 'acceleration ding' is an early warning for low brake fluid

m light was doing the same thing and a guy at one of the shops i took it to to get it aligned said it was th altinator but i dont think that is the prob because it was going ding ding ding before but now the light just doesnt want to go off is that because of the low brake fluid too because i jus thought that the light was jus to tell you your brake was up. thanks for the hlep.

You guys were right the brake fluid is low. I still need to go buy some brake fluid and top it off to make sure it stops the ding and light. Here I always thought that light was only to show that the parkingbrake is on.

Thanks.
