Heres whats going on. Its pretty cold here about 15-25 F in the morning when i leave for work. I let my srt warm up for about 1 minute or so before i go as soon as i pull away its hard to shift into second but it goes. Third is the same way feels like im pushing up on a rubber ball or something and then it pops in, forth sometimes does it and fifth is always fine. After driving for a while all the gears feel fine and shift smooth its just when the car isnt really warmed up, but i drove around the other day for 25 miles or so and stop for a quick bite at bk got back into the car and started down the road and when i shifted to second it didnt want to go then as it slid in the shift *** studder'd like it was grinding but i heard no noise.Third gear has done this a couple of times now too. First is almost imposible to get unless im stoped. Could this be the syncros or is it another issue. I have 27k on my stock clutch and no real big power mods, just stage 1, downpipe, intake, and FMIC maybe pushing 260hp. I also have a short shift. I also have my pedal adj. all the way out. Oh and i can be rolling down the road say 35-40mph and push the clutch to the floor and shift in and out of the gears and its still hard. I can leave the clutch pushed down and it gets that bubble effect too. almost like the clutch isnt fully dis.

 

have u change the tranny fluid

 

been having the same issue with my second gear. its much more pronounced with it being cold. change out your fluid if it hasnt been done recently, but it didnt help mine out. dealer is being jackasses about it, soim just going to live with it.

 

Ya' ive changed it every 12k miles and ya it didnt seem to help at 24k. Shortly before that is when i notice the gears acting a little tough. Oh i have never race or anything. Never dump the clutch, have done a few quick shifts but never missed a gear and no wot shifts.

 

Newbie here.... i just bought my 05 srt 4 a week ago and im having the same problem with my gears.... im around 17k miles and getting ready to change tranny fluid with royal purple synchromax.... hope this stuff works, ive heard great things....

all the research that i have done seems to say that the stiff gears in this car is quite normal.... even with srt4's around 100k miles, have the same problem without any major damage, so im thinking were just going to have to live with it....

 

The SRT-4 trannys have a mind of their own.......like a woman (no offense, PSI Chick!!)

experienced the same...i have a short throw and its been real cold here lately....it is hard to shift...just have to be careful and pay attention lol...kinda sux but hey i hate automatics with a passion so...

 

I love the car but apparently these trannys are crap. See my old post "tranny problems anyone else". My original tranny was great until 3rd crapped out after I missed a shift driving to work. Second tranny ( build date 2-14-07 ) has that feeling of the gears meshing transmitted through the shifter like yours. No grinding noise but I hate the feeling. Doesnt feel right. Mine is back to the dealer for the 4th time since October.
