Aparently, a SRT-4 buyer took one for a ride w/ a salesman... after driving the salesman told him he would drive the car w/ the buyer in the passenger seat beack to the dealership... on their way there, the salesman was going way over the speed limit, lost control and rolled the car several times... the salesman was alright w/ just cuts and bruises... while the customer had to be cut from the car and had half of his face ripped off... he was in a coma for several days, and has now just started rehab!</P>

Well heck, my dealer wouldn't let me take my SRT-4 out for a test drive and I've heard several other people say the same thing! What gives?</P>
Yep. They wouldn't let anyone around here test drive them at all. They said you,ll get your test drive on your way home with it after you have bought it. I'm sorry, but I will never buy it if I cannot drive it before hand. That reminds me, they had to get the one and only salesman that went to a special class for the SRT-4's, where he got to test drive one, to show me the car. None of the salesmen, even the managers(except the lot manager)couldn't test drive them.<edited><editID>71ROADRUNNER</editID><editDate>38009.2835763889</editDate></edited>
how much do they go for? im betting they are pretty expensive, around
here, for some cars, you got to give them your insurance info before
you can test drive them because of the price.

I don't think it's the price they're worried about (SRT-4s only run 20K and some change), I think it's the POWER. Most people aren't used to driving a car that fast and they tend to overcorrect/lose control...that leaves the dealer wide open for a lawsuit.</P>
When I got my srt4 there were zero miles on the odometer. The dealer said that only serious buyers could test drive it. After dropping a small deposit I had the privilige of putting on the first four miles and filling up the first tank, on them of course. The car is just unreal. My dealer told me he ordered ten and only recieved one, a second in limbo. I guess I lucked out. My advice...BUY ONE! By the way, for anyone who might care, turbo lag time is minimal.
