Mechanic
Hi again. Like any vehicle or person at some time repairs have to be done. Now althought the car will be under warranty, are their any good mechanics or dealerships that will do work on upgrades to the car (such as CAI, OCC; about all i wil do for now)? I know for my SHO I had a hard time finding a qualified Ford dealership to service the car because most of them knew not a thing about the SHO. I reside in New York (city). Thanks all. It is best to do all my research before I buy the car.
Some dealerships if your in good with them won't mind. CAI's and OCC's are wicked easy to install though. If you go to www.srtforums.com and search for your region, you'll find many members in your region will actually be more than willing to help you install parts if you aren't familiar with them. Here in New England with the NESRTOC we have days where people bring their parts and its a free-for-all install day. A bunch of members show up and everyone helps everyone else.
So you may not even need to pay anyone to install those parts for you, help may be right around the corner. Which region.state are you from Brad?

I am in New York Miss Chick (I hope I have correct gender). I don't intend to buy this puppy till late spring but I have already made friends with a salesman at some dealership in Long Island (not sure if he is the man with the clout). Any help right now be grateful (always bought 2nd hand vehicles my 1st new one).
Theres tons of people in New York that would help you out. Yip yup you've got the gender right. Theres some seriously fast SRTs out of New York. I'm sure they'd be glad to help once you got the car
Thanks. How long have you owned your car? As I learnt at the dealer they have discontinued the 7/75 warranty (heard horror stories of young irresponsible drivers) as standard on the srt-4 (additional 1500 or so for the that option). I may if I have the patience wait until the arrival of the 06 to get my car. I dont know if there will be any major changes worth waiting for between the 05 & 06 models.
No 06. And no 7/70 for 05 either, but you can purchase one, like you said from the dealer. Good luck with buying
Any Q's lemme know.

if you need anything installed, shoot me a pm or im me at pooks73 on aim. we have install days every so often and can do whatever, or if you need anything major done that we can't handle (which probably isn't much) i've got a friend with a shop in queens that can do what you need. he's also good for oil changes, alignments, inspection, etc.
edit: i just noticed that our locations don't show up here. i'm in westchester, about 10 minutes north of the bronx. we also have a ton of owners in long island.....

Toldja!!! Theres always people willing to help, and you don't get charged either. Here in NE, just bring some food and drink/beer or whatever and we're all happy fat kids. Some are happy fat kids with beer. If you feed the NESRTOC, THEY WILL COME!
